DERBYSHIRE: Guided Trail Run

What to expect
We will begin our session with a short introduction of Chi Running and our history, along with a summary of my running experience and Chi Running Instructor journey.
To aid our short 5 mile trail run I will share, and support your practice of, posture and alignment, while standing and when in movement. I will explain and demonstrate how we can use gravity and apply a slight lean to make your running feel easier but also more efficient. Along with this we will focus on our arm swing to provide an upper and lower body harmony.
Combined with the above, I will explain some simple facts about the benefits of nasal breathing in everyday life to bring into your physical activities.
All of the above we will then implement in an informal and fun 5 mile (max) trail run. I will provide prompts and guidance and guide use through the route.
All abilities very welcome. We will run as a group and gather up frequently. The aim of the run is to embed some useful Chi Running principles to support your future running.
The session will take place outdoors, with our unpredictable UK weather do check the forecast beforehand and dress to suit your needs – layers is always a good idea. We will have access to our cars quite easily for storage before our run begins.
It will be an open and relaxed environment for learning, there is plenty of time to ask questions and chat to me. We can also grab at coffee at our local YHA venue which is located conveniently at the start and end of the trails.
The best parking spot for the venue is either at the main entrance off Rawdon Road using the above post code. Alternatively there is a second car park – the Waterside entrance – off the A444, Moira Road and Bath Lane.
We will meet at the main entrance/building which DE12 6GA will direct you to (Off Rawdon Road and Millennium Avenue).
